Industrial RO

Cauldron is a Dubai-based supplier and systems integrator of industrial and commercial reverse osmosis (RO) plants, designing, assembling, installing and commissioning complete RO systems for clients across the UAE.

Every RO system we deliver, from a small commercial unit for a restaurant kitchen to a containerised plant for a remote construction site, is engineered around your own water analysis and demand, not selected from a fixed catalogue. We handle the full scope: process design, equipment selection, fabrication and skid assembly, site installation, pressure testing, commissioning, and after-sales maintenance support.

What is Reverse Osmosis?

Reverse osmosis removes dissolved salts, minerals and the majority of dissolved contaminants from water by forcing it through a semi-permeable membrane under pressure. Pretreated feed water is pressurised by a high-pressure pump and passed through spiral-wound membrane elements housed in pressure vessels. Purified water (permeate) passes through the membrane; concentrated reject (brine) carries the rejected salts to drain. Membrane salt rejection is typically 96–99%, with actual product quality depending on feed water, temperature, recovery and system design.

Treatment sequence: Raw water tank → Multimedia filter → Activated-carbon filter → Softener / antiscalant dosing → 5-micron cartridge filter → High-pressure pump → RO membrane array → Post-treatment (UV / remineralisation) → Distribution.

Benefits & Features of Industrial RO Plants in the UAE

The UAE’s water context makes RO especially relevant: municipal desalinated supply, well/borehole water and tanker-fed sources can all carry high TDS, hardness or seasonal variability, and UAE summer feed temperatures reduce membrane output if a system isn’t sized for them. A correctly engineered industrial RO plant addresses this directly.

Consistent, reliable product-water quality

online conductivity monitoring with alarm and auto-divert keeps out-of-spec water from reaching service, even as feed conditions vary through the day or season

low-TDS RO water dramatically reduces scale formation in boilers, calorifiers, steam equipment and heat exchangers, extending equipment life and cutting energy losses from scaled surfaces

Lower lifetime chemical and membrane cost

correctly designed pretreatment (media, carbon, softening/antiscalant) reduces fouling and scaling, which directly reduces membrane replacement frequency and chemical dosing costs

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

What is an industrial RO system?

An industrial reverse osmosis system removes dissolved salts, impurities and contaminants from water using membrane technology under pressure. Industrial RO systems are used in hotels, factories, hospitals, laundries and process plants to produce consistent, low-TDS treated water for drinking, process use or equipment protection.

Cost depends on capacity (L/hr to m³/day), feed-water TDS, required product quality, construction materials and format (skid, plant-room or containerised). Send us your water analysis and daily demand and we’ll return a preliminary system selection and budget within 5 working days.

A skid-mounted RO system is a compact frame-mounted unit installed inside an existing plant room or building. A containerised RO plant is a complete system pre-built and tested inside a shipping container, delivered ready to connect to feed, drain and power, ideal for construction sites and remote or temporary locations.

Sizing depends on your daily and peak water demand, feed-water TDS, and required product quality. As a guide: small commercial applications typically need 250–1,000 L/hr, mid-size hotels and buildings 1–5 m³/hr, and industrial/process plants 5–20 m³/hr or more. Send your demand figures for an exact recommendation.

Skid-mounted systems typically install fastest since they fit into an existing room. Containerised plants have the shortest on-site installation time because they arrive pre-assembled and factory-tested. Plant-room systems take the longest, as they include full room fit-out. Exact timelines depend on project scope.

Recovery (the ratio of permeate to feed water) is typically 50–75% for brackish-water systems, and is set by feed silica, hardness and antiscalant limits. Higher recovery saves water but raises scaling risk, so it is engineered per project.

Yes. Containerised RO plants are fully relocatable and can be redeployed to a new project once the current one ends. Skid-mounted systems can also be relocated with some additional work.

Cartridge filters are replaced based on differential pressure; media beds backwash automatically or on schedule. Membranes require CIP (clean-in-place) when normalised permeate flow falls 10–15%, and dosing/monitoring instruments are calibrated at service visits. We offer annual maintenance contracts covering consumables, membranes and emergency response.

Yes. Because Cauldron also manufactures calorifiers and supplies boilers, heat pumps and chillers, we design RO and softening systems specifically to protect that downstream equipment, correct product-water quality for boiler make-up, correct softener capacity ahead of calorifiers, and correct filtration for chiller condenser circuits.
